Transformation Fellow for Regional Value Chain Study | African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) | Paid, Remote

The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) is seeking applications for the Transformation Fellow position as part of the Regional Value Chain study under the Jobs Scan Study. This two-year fellowship is an excellent opportunity for early-career African economists to conduct value chain analysis in key economic sectors and contribute to meaningful policy recommendations aimed at fostering economic transformation across Africa. The role is open to professionals with expertise in economics, labor economics, international trade, and related fields. Candidates with strong analytical and technical skills, and up to eight years of relevant experience, are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
Who Can Apply:
- Early-career African economists
- Candidates with an advanced degree (Masters, MPhil, or PhD) in Economics, Labor Economics, International Trade, International Development, or a related field
- Professionals with up to eight (8) years of relevant experience in program management, research, or coordination
- Candidates with strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Individuals with experience in value chain analysis, statistical modeling, and econometrics are preferred

- The opportunity is open to African candidates, regardless of location
- Remote applicants will be considered
Program Details
- Duration: Two years
- Location: Accra, Ghana (Remote positions are available)
- Structure:
- Desk research and literature review on value chain analysis in agriculture, services, and manufacturing
- Secondary data collection, analysis, and report writing
- Conducting futurist analysis and simulations on job creation
- Providing recommendations on regional value chain development
- Publishing policy briefs and articles
- Engaging in stakeholder workshops and dissemination activities
